Vivian was born May 5, 1923 in Amherst County to the late Walter & Lelia Gordon Staton.
She retired from the former General Electric Company in Waynesboro in 1985 with 25 years of service and she was a devoted member of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church in Waynesboro for over 60 years. In her earlier years at Glovier she delighted in singing in the church choir and assisting in Bible School over many summers.
Vivian was one of 10 children and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Ramsey, five brothers, four sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Surviving are her three children, son, Leslie Ramsey and wife Barbara of Lyndhurst, daughter, Bernie Ramsey of Waynesboro, daughter, Alice Davis of Sun City, AZ, one grandson, Preston Fry and a number of nieces, nephews and their families.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by Ryan Schaeffer, Pastor of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church.
Entombment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Sheriff Joe Harris, John Swink, Frank Bragg, A. B. Floyd, Gary Wright and Jack Plummer.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
