Obituario de Rebecca Ann (Simmons) Gregory
Rebecca Ann (Simmons) Gregory, 58, of Waynesboro passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. Born June 24, 1964 in Staunton, she was a daughter of Hazel Marie (Fitzgerald) Simmons and the late Charles Raymond Simmons. Prior to her illness, Rebecca was employed by Stuarts Draft High School where she worked as a custodian for 13 faithful years. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her kids, and mother. She enjoyed beach trips, her favorite thing to do was go to the beach and enjoy the dolphin tours. Her favorite things were dolphins, sunflowers, and her family and friends. She was such an amazing soul. She always accepted anyone and everyone. She was strong, through countless surgerys and illnesses she remained invincible. She climbed every mountain set to take her down, and did it with so much stride and perseverance. A fighter she always has been, a fighter she continued to be. Being brave and being strong was the definition of who Becky was. A mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend. She will be forever and greatly missed by oh so many. Mom, I thank you for every lesson, every moment, every tear, every memory you gave us. We will forever and always miss you. We love you! Rebecca will be lovingly missed by all those who knew her. Survivors include her son, Travis Simmons of Stuarts Draft; two daughters, Megan Simmons of Waynesboro and Carmen Simmons (Dustin Gregory) of Waynesboro; boyfriend, Elbert Graham, Jr. of Waynesboro; mother, Hazel Simmons of Stuarts Draft; three sisters, Susan Isakson (Milton) of Oregon, Debra Simmons of Stuarts Draft, and Ruth Welcher (Brian) of Stuarts Draft; and several nieces and nephews.
