Born April 22, 1963 in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas Quick, Jr. and Joyce Marie (Painter) Quick.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Joshua Brandon Quick.
Penny was a graduate of Waynesboro High School Class of 1981. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Lakeside Book Company where she worked for 26 faithful years. Penny was a member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, Waynesboro. She was an avid sports fan, and loved rooting on her UVA Cavaliers. Penny also enjoyed going bowling, playing softball, and collecting Emmett Kelly clown and Goofy figurines. She will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Survivors include her two brothers, Thomas G. Quick and wife, Kathy, of Churchville, and John M. Quick and wife, Kerry, of Hayes, VA; five nieces and nephews, Christina Kraus, John Quick III, Devin M. Quick, Atasha Richie, and McKession Irvine; numerous great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-nephew; and her two feline companions, Peanut and Jasper.
Following cremation, a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, 901 Shenandoah Ave., Waynesboro.
