Irvin Mason Wood Jr.

He was born August 6, 1927, a son of the late Irvin Mason, Sr. and Margret Mae (Eanes) Wood.

Irvin served his country in United State Navy and retired after 54 years of service as an insulator with the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Wood on March 20, 2024; daughter, Charlene Wood; sons, Jeffrey Wood, Keith Wood; grandson, Mason Wood, as well as five brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include a son, Scott Wood and daughter-in-law Tracey Wood; daughter, Cherly McCauley; brother, George Wood; four sisters, Gloria Hull, Kathlene Joyce, Jaqueline Martin, Alice Marie Sandridge; grandchildren, Sidney McCauley, Bailee McCauley, Angela Wood, Ginger Wood, Candice Wood, Justin Wood, Joshua Wood, Isha Wood, Ethan Wood and Amanda Bland, as well as numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Joshua Wood, Isha Wood, Ethan Wood, Justin Wood, Ashton Wood and Scott Wood.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes and Crematory.
