Born June 12, 1933 in Fairfield, Va, he was the son of the late Harry and Madeline Snider.
Mr. Snider was a member of Grace Bible Church, Staunton. After working for several different companies, he retired from Genicom in 1995.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Reba; a number of aunts and uncles; his first wife, Mary and his second wife, Frances.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his three sons, Donald Schneider, Roy Snider both of Waynesboro and Tom Snider of Staunton; one grandson, Chris Lusk of Virginia Beach; one granddaughter, April Barr and husband, Roger of Roanoke; five great grandchildren; four step children, James Hyden and wife, Dale of Lynchburg, Barbara Douglas and husband, Bobby, Doug Hyden and wife, Pat of Staunton and Daniel Hyden and wife, Jeanie of Waynesboro; five step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; aunt, Madge Snider of Fairfield; special cousin, Judy and husband, Randy and their son, Billy and wife, Patty; a number of cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., with Pastor Roy Trump officiating. Burial will follow in Ludrick Cemetery, Fairfield, Va. Sue Browning will be interpreting for the services.
Active pallbearers will be Gerald Terrell, Jessie Snider, Jay Fox, Colby Conner, Billy Fox and Brandon Trailer.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to his special caretakers, Scott Shiflett, Judy Clark, Donna Cash and Dot Woodzell. As well as his caretakers from hospice: Nena, Sharon and Megan.
