Earnest "Bud" Clarence Purvis, 77, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Augusta Health.
He was born October 8, 1943, a son of the late Earnest Camm and Elizabeth Etta (Kirby) Purvis.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was owner/operator of "Buds" Handyman Service where he believed his customers were his extended family.
Bud was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and played softball for many local leagues. He was a beloved coach to many and enjoyed gardening and wood working.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Fay K. Miller and his wife, Shirley, John Perdue; sister-in-law, Phyllis Coyner; step-mother, Helen Purvis.
Survivors include his wife, Delores (Miller) Purvis; daughters, Cara P. Moore and husband, Jeff of Waynesboro, Shea R. Purvis of Fishersville; step-son, James B. Quick of Waynesboro; sisters, Betty Via and husband, Granville of Waynesboro, Sandy Perdue of Verona; brother, Jack K. Purvis and wife, Vicki of Waynesboro; brother-in-law, Russell Coyner; grandchildren, Carter Moore, Mattie Johnson and Nathan, Jared Moore, Brady Louk; and one great-granddaughter, Graycen Johnson.
He also leaves behind his 4 legged children, Luke and Benji.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all services will be private.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shenandoah Valley Animal Services, 1001 Mt. Torrey Rd., Lyndhurst, VA 22952.
