Dreama Dare Sandridge McDaniel, 82, loving and dedicated wife of Lloyd David McDaniel, Jr. of Waynesboro passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at her home. Born April 26, 1939 at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Venable Sandridge, Sr. and Ruby Mulford Glass Sandridge. Dreama was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren and a faithful follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a proud grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of 12. As an avid gardener, she had a green thumb that was unmatched. She loved to sew, cook, quilt, paint and had a passion for golf. Dreama had a natural creativity for cross-stitch, crocheting, quilting, and knitting. She had a zest for life that included a love for antiques and Sunday afternoon drives in the countryside. Dreama was also a licensed cosmetologist and successful business owner of Looking Good Hair Design of Waynesboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Marie Ellis; and brothers, Dennis Venable Sandridge, Jr. and Melvin Sandridge. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Lloyd David McDaniel, Jr.; children, Tina Ortiz of Waynesboro, Trena McDaniel (Linda) of Waynesboro, and Lloyd David McDaniel III (Linda) of Churchville, Va; sister, Nancy McDaniel (Taze McDaniel, Jr.) of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Robert Walter Turner, III (Dina) Mayville, MI, Jennifer Leigh Vess (Jeremy) of Waynesboro, Amanda Marie Tate (Justin) of Stuarts Draft, Ashley Meghan Kennedy (Michael) of Waynesboro, Lloyd David McDaniel, IV (Esther) of Vernon, Va, Maria Nicole Ortiz, Staunton, and Bradford Owen Ellis (Becky) of Suffolk, Va; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 364 Bridge Ave., Waynesboro with Pastor Dot Mellot officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Nolan Vess, Jeremy Vess, Davis McDaniel, Brad Ellis, Robert Turner, and Derek McDaniel. Honorary pallbearers will be Max Vess and T.C. McDaniel. There will be no formal viewing or visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro.
