David was born in New Jersey on December 26th, 1973 to Judith (Madden) McKeever and Joseph McKeever. David worked as a chef for 35 years, spending the bulk of his time at Cross Keys Vineyards. While working as a chef, David met his best friend, Kristen Crowley, whom he married on September 15th, 2007, and spent the next 16 years enjoying life with.
David is survived by his loving wife, Kristen McKeever of Waynesboro; his parents, Joseph and Judith McKeever of Chicago and Palmyra respectively; and a sister, Jennifer McKeever of Charlottesville. He is also survived by four nephews and five nieces; as well as his “fur family”, which consists of three dogs, Sean, Jasmine and Kringle; and 12 cats.
David will be remembered for his love. His love and devotion to his wife, Kristen, was unmatched and uncompromising. They loved spending time together in the kitchen, experimenting and inventing meals of up to six courses. David also enjoyed practicing pistol marksmanship at his father-in-law’s shooting range. David was a man who cherished new experiences. Rather than being fearful of the unknown, David was excited by the prospect of seeing, exploring or eating something new and different; always ready for a new adventure. In the words of a friend, “He had a huge heart and pushed himself more than most would.”
Following cremation, a celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., Waynesboro with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating.
