D. Zelma Harris, 78, of Stuarts Draft, and formerly of Afton, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023.
She was born in Charlottesville on May 3, 1945, a daughter of the late Walker Gilbert and Florine (Scott) Campbell.
Zelma retired from the University of Virginia, was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Rockfish Valley Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Alvin Campbell, Woodroe Campbell, Joyce Ann Campbell; her former spouse, William “Billy” Watson; grandson, Dustin Scott Watson; former daughter-in-law, Donna P. Watson.
Survivors include her loving husband, Berton “Randy” Harris, Sr.; sons, Kevin S. Watson and wife, Evie, Casey Watson and wife, Nancy; grandchildren, Sierra and Josh Watson.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Hebron Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Billy Coffey, Joe Longhorne, Tracy Smith, Bert Harris, Josh Tyler and Kenny Longhorne.
Honorary pallbearers will be family members and friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynold Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St. Waynesboro, Va.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.
