Christine Jones (Gibson) Estes, 72, of Waynesboro, passed away on Wednesday January 2, 2013 at Augusta Health.
Mrs. Estes was born on February 16, 1940 in Augusta County, and was a daughter of the late Grant Martin and Alma Etta (Fisher) Gibson. She retired from Grant’s where she worked as a clerk. Christine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who will greatly miss her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Hoover Estes.
Mrs. Estes is survived by two sons, Archie William Woodson of Pocahontas, VA and Donnie Lee Woodson and wife Nancy Jean of Afton; a brother, Roger Gibson and wife Faye of Raphine; two grandchildren, Amanda Woodson and Christopher Cooper; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Estes was also preceded in death by three sisters, Angel Morris, Betty Keyser and Sue Talifer
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday January 8, 2013 at 11 AM at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes with Rev. Bobby Presnell officiating. The burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
