Carolyn Marks Baer

Carolyn Elaine Marks Baer, 70, wife of David Baer, of Waynesboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 19, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on May 16, 1947 in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of the late Violet Crawford. Mrs. Baer was employed by GE/Genicom before her time at Northrop Grumman where she later retired. She was a member of Waynesboro Mennonite Church. Spending time and cooking for her family brought her much pleasure. Mrs. Baer will be remembered for her love of family and her caring nature. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her two infant sons. She is survived by her husband, David; her son, Jeffrey Marks and wife, Sheila, of Lyndhurst; her special niece, Dana Roberts and husband, Steve, of Greenwood, SC; three sisters, Gloria Wright and husband, Guy of Harrisonburg, Patricia Harlow and husband, Carlton, of Ruckersville and Shirley Tyler of Fort Mill, SC; a brother, Joel Dale Shifflett of Ruckersville; a granddaughter, Miranda Marks of Staunton; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Waynesboro Mennonite Church. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM at the church with Pastor Howard Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
