Barbara Mae (Buchanan) Smith

Barbara Mae (Buchanan) Smith, 60, formerly of Waynesboro and most recently of Chestertown, MD passed away on May 31, 2019 at BridgePoint Hospital National Harbor, Washington, D.C. Born July 17, 1958 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late George Richard and Bessie (Reynolds) Buchanan. Barbara was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them. Survivors include her two sons, Daniel Scott Fields of Nebraska and Michael Allen Fields and wife, Holly of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Preston Fields and Cole Fields; significant other, Kevin Dean of Chestertown, MD; two sisters, Shirley Campbell and significant other, J.R. Martin of Fishersville and Brenda Stoner and husband, Don Albrecht of Perryville, MD; a number of nieces, nephews and friends; and her k-9 companion, Miss Priss. Following cremation, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta Regional SPCA, P.O.
