Isabel Puente Guerrero was born on October 30, 1927, in Martindale, Texas to Joaquín and Polina (nee Villanueva) Puente. Her mother died when she was two years old, and her brother Basilio was just an infant. Her father later remarried, and Isabel soon became half-sister to seven brothers and sisters. She married José M. Guerrero on August 16, 1946, and they had six children: Joseph, Alfred, Daniel, James, Gloria and Michael.
Isabel worked hard all her life to support her family, eventually retiring from a State of Michigan health care facility in 1992.
Isabel’s walk with God began in Ypsilanti, Michigan over 50 years ago, and she was a faithful member of Christian Life Apostolic Ministries in Detroit, Michigan for the last 37 years. She was affectionately called “Mom Guerrero” and was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed worshiping with the saints of God, participating in all church events and projects as well as visiting people to encourage them in their walk with God. She was a “Prayer Warrior” and was a lover of Apostolic truth. She loved reading her Bible through each year and her favorite passage of scripture was Psalm 91.
Isabel passed peacefully from this life on July 20, 2024, in Wayne, Michigan, her home for the last 57 years, surrounded by her surviving children, Alfred, James, Gloria, and Michael, her daughter-in-law Minerva, and her grandchildren Gabriel and Maricela. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
