Sunday, July 11, 2021. She fought the Good Fight her whole life, with her most recent battle
being cancer. She fought that one hard too. She made her home in Inkster, MI after having lived
in Westland and Detroit most of her life.
Amanda’s love for her family was second only to the Lord. He was always first and she’d let you
know i t. She was a soldier in the Army of Jesus Christ first and foremost. She spent her free
time ministering and spreading the Gospel wherever and whenever she could. Even as a small
child, she would go door t o door in the neighborhood to sing Christmas Carols all year round
because according to Amanda, “When isn’t a good time t o sing about the birth of Jesus?” Jesus
and family were her everything. Especially her nieces and nephews. Since she didn’t have any
biological children of her own, she considered them to be like her own. The most recent addition
being her great nephew. Amanda also took on people as family who she wasn’t related to
because they were an extension of those she loved. She called it heart adoption, like Jesus was
for us.
Amanda is survived by her father Milton T. Brooks, her brother and sister William J. Lockhart Sr.
and Shawn M. Lockhart, her nieces and nephews Sydnie Harroun, Charles Harroun, Samuel
Harroun, William Lockhart Jr, Zachery Harroun (Shawna) and “grand” nephew Abraham
Harroun, baby Harroun on the way, her grandmother Gloria Brooks, uncles Samuel H.
Daughenbaugh Jr. (Cheryl), William D. Graves (Nancy), William R. Brooks, and MANY beloved
cousins. Her family by heart adoption, sisters: Rita Smith (John), Danica Riggen, Linda Thanm,
Robyn Asika (Obi), Rosalyn Smith (Don), brothers Erik Harroun (Tracy), Marcus Gupton, niece
Kyra Riggen, nephews John Thanm, Gabriel and Jacob Asika, Jordan Thompson, and Brandon
Talarico.
She was preceded in death by her mother Sharon A. Graves, uncle Richard V. Graves,
grandparents Milton F. Brooks, William D. Graves, Wanda M. Daughenbaugh, Samuel H.
Daughenbaugh Sr., and Grace Daughenbaugh.
