Margaret A. Olson

Margaret is lovingly remembered by her husband Bryce Olson and daughters Denise Olson of Durham, North Carolina, Lori (Jeff) VanderKam of Wayland, Michigan, and Katherine (James) Brower of Alto, Michigan. “Grandma Olson” was loved by her grandchildren Jessica VanderKam (Derek), Mitchell (Kristi) VanderKam, Kaitlyn (Tyler) McGahan, Madelyn Brower (Brennan), Dylan Brower, Carl Solik, Sean (Alexis) Solik and by her 12 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered by her sisters Marie Stein and Norma Oakley and her brothers Leonard (Connie) Schoendorf and Michael (Pauline) Schaendorf.

Margaret was born on September 6, 1937 in Dorr, Michigan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Lura Schaendorf. She married Bryce Olson of Hopkins, Michigan on February 11, 1961. They raised their daughters in Byron Center, Michigan where they have resided for the past 60 years.

Margaret loved nature and flower gardening. She and Bryce hosted many family reunions, weddings, and parties in their beautiful yard. The grandchildren loved the creek, pond, and wildlife. They called their yard “Camp Olson”.

A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at St. Therese of Lisieux Church, 128 Cedar St., Wayland, MI 49348, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.kubiakcookwayland.com in their guest book online.
