Fred Schwartz

Fred Schwartz, age 83 of Wayland, passed away April 13, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou Schwartz. Fred will be remembered by his son Bruce (Vicki) Schwartz; his grandchildren Jeremy and Jessica Schwartz; his great-granddaughter Macy; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Donald and Jeannette Schwartz and Jerry and Linda Schwartz; and many nieces and nephews. Fred and Mary Lou were longtime business owners through the years in Wayland, with Fred's Country Store, Wayland and Dorr Floral and currently, Wayland Do It Best Hardware. He also worked for 19 years at Steelcase. Fred was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a life member of the Wayland VFW Post 7581. Friends may visit with Fred's family Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services in Wayland, 312 N. Main Street, and Monday, from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM, followed by a graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery with military honors. In honor of Fred, contributions may be made to Wayland Area Ambulance.
