Elizabeth Monroe

Elizabeth (Betty) Monroe of Elmira, NY entered into rest on November 16, 2014 at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan, NY. She was 77. Elizabeth was born July 29, 1937 to John and Margaret (Earl) Dolson in Washingtonville, NY. Betty loved the Lord, her family, friends and traveling. She is survived by her children: Rhonda and her husband, Curtis Cooper and Gerald H. Monroe; seven grandchildren: Curtis, Jr., Brad, Mike, Lindsay, Brandon, Elijah and Nicholas; three great-grandchildren: Zanaya, Jizae and Shamya; brothers, Duane, Reginald, Thadeus and Howard Dolson as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her Husband of 50 years, Wesley Monroe, Jr.; Son, Brandon Monroe; sisters: Katherine, Pauline, Mary, Corneila and Margorie; brothers: William, John, and Cliff. Visitation will be held Friday, November 21 from 8:30-10:15 a.m. at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, Washingtonville, NY. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 21, 10:30 a.m. at Hope Chapel, Washingtonville, NY. Burial will follow in Washingtonville Cemetery, Washingtonville, NY.
