Mrs. Lung was born in Tianjin China in 1915 to a large, traditional, and academically oriented family. After studying Chinese Classics as a youngster at home, she went on to graduate from the American missionary Keen High School (中西女中)in 1934.She later attended Nankai University in Tianjin where she majored in English Language and Literature. In 1937, Japanese bombings on campus interrupted her college education so she moved to the city of Kunming in the Yunnan Province of China, where her parents were from. Here she continued her studies at the Southwestern Associated University ( 西南聯大) until she graduated in 1939.
She married General Shen-wu Lung with whom she had four children. In 1946, she and her family left China for Hong Kong and then subsequently Taiwan. In 1996, after the passing of her husband of 56 years, she moved to the United States to join her four children. Throughout her life, Mrs. Lung loved to play Mahjong.
She is survived by her son, three daughters, and three grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother – noble, generous, kind, faithful, and quiet.
