Kevin J. Fandl, 45, reached the end of his life journey on June 29, 2021 at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. He passed peacefully at the hospital accompanied by his wife, after a seven-month long struggle with Leukemia. Kevin was born in Allentown, PA on February 24, 1976. He was the youngest son of Charles Fandl and Stephanie Harrison Fandl. He married Monica Lugo on May 16, 2003 and had two daughters, Isabella (14) and Daniela Fandl (6). He received his BA in Philosophy from Lock Haven University, his M.A. and J.D. from American University and his Ph.D. in Public Policy from George Mason University. Prior to his passing he worked at Fox School of Business at Temple University as an associate professor of legal studies and strategic global management, Irwin Gross Research Fellow, Academic Director of Global Immersions and Executive Director of the Temple Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER). Prior to Temple he worked at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in various roles, including Chief of Staff for International Trade and Senior Counsel to the Assistant Secretary. He authored more than 45 journal articles and 5 books in areas related to Law and Public Policy. Kevin was passionate about teaching, researching and writing. But mostly, Kevin was an intelligent, kind, generous, thoughtful, self-motivated and happy human being that made a tremendous impact in everyone’s life around him. He was greatly loved by all his family. He lived in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife, two daughters, and dog Blue. His corner of the world is brighter because of his life and because of the mark he left with all those he met.
