After retiring from over 40 years of government service, she volunteered for many years with the Friends of the Palisades Library.
She belonged to Westmoreland Congregational Church. Well-traveled and an avid reader, Kathy had a deep appreciation for the arts and humanities and loved going to performances at The Kennedy Center with family and friends. She quickly fell in love with our Washington Nationals and enjoyed watching games with her loved ones.
Kathy was a devoted wife and mother and lived her whole life serving others. Her happiness was derived by taking care of her family and friends and showering them with love. Kathy’s greatest joy in life was becoming a grandmother to Finn Lanigan. She spent many happy days with Finn playing around the house, gardening, cooking, reading and listening to music.
She had a heart of gold and her love of others touched everyone she knew.
