After a brief illness, Jon Louis Boisclair, loving husband of Lynda Murphy and devoted father to Pierce Carlisle Boisclair and Alexandra Marie Boisclair passed on November 3, 2014 at home in the presence of his family and his brother James P. Kershner.
Mr. Boisclair was a long time resident of Georgetown in Washington, DC. He was born at Columbia Hospital in the District of Columbia on July 28, 1946 to Dr. Thomas Boisclair and Barbara Boisclair Kershner. He attended schools in Alexandria, Virginia and Detroit Lakes High School in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Jon was an extraordinary athlete, playing varsity basketball at the University of North Dakota. Jon graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1972.
Jon was a successful entrepreneur and founding partner of several advertising companies. He was also active in Republican politics, first serving as campaign media advertiser to former Minnesota Congressman James Ramstad. Jon has worked in government affairs representing numerous clients before the Congress as well as Executive Branch Agencies.
All are welcome to join in the celebration of Jon's life with his family and friends. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Joseph Gawler's Sons 5130 Wisconsin Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, November 7 at Holy Trinity Church, 3513 N St NW, Washington, DC 20007 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send all donations to the Mayo Clinic Department of Development, Attn: Jim Hodge, 200 First Street, Rochester, MN 55905.
