On Sunday November 19, 2017 of natural causes. A lifelong Washingtonian until her 86th year, widow of William Colton Palmer, and daughter of the late Ruth Brandenburg McCarty and Jeremiah William McCarty. Generous, caring and loving mother of Elaine Palmer Scalzi, Gerald Charles Palmer, and the late Elizabeth Anne Palmer; beloved and inseparable sister of Dorothy McCarty Wagenhoffer. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Diane Marie Palmer, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Parklawn Cemetery, 12800 Viers Mill Road, Rockville, MD 20853 on Friday December 22, 2017 at 11am. Reception 12 noon at Il Porto, 245 Muddy Branch Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Cure Alzheimers Fund (https://curealz.org/donate).
