Annette was born July 21, 1928 in Washington, DC and grew up in Georgetown, DC and Southern Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Mary Hill and Joseph William Roberts, of Landover and Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Annette was sister to Grace Clagett Roberts Brashear, and brothers the late Capt. William Eugene Roberts, USN Ret., and Frank Hill Roberts. She married the late Walter A. Slowinski, Jr., on January 31, 1953.
Annette was a loving mother to her eight children and their spouses, Francis Hill Slowinski (Maureen O’Hearn), the late John Bowie Slowinski (Kathleen Rule), Mary Carroll Slowinski Casey (Michael Patrick), Walter Kent Slowinski (Catherine Andrews), Annette Carter Slowinski, Elizabeth Snowden Slowinski Herrity, Eugenia (Nina) Calvert Slowinski Wendling (Daniel Raymond), and Richard Lee Slowinski (Ann Sissala). She was also devoted to her thirteen grandchildren, Christopher Hill Slowinski, Caitlin Brent Slowinski, William Brooke Slowinski, Erin Snowden Slowinski, Michael Patrick Casey Jr., Sarah Roberts Casey, Robert John Casey II, Elizabeth Carroll Casey, Patrick Bowie Casey, Allison Carter Wendling Frels (Brian Andrew), Adrienne Stryle Waring Wendling, Caroline Lee Slowinski, John Rockwell Slowinski, and her two great grandchildren, Brooks Andrew Frels and Annaleigh Calvert Frels.
Annette was the fourth generation in her family to attend Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School. She was deeply devoted to the school and the Sisters of the Visitation. She received her degree from George Washington University.
She was a Dame in the Order of Malta and actively involved in many organizations including the National Society of Colonial Dames, the Junior League of Washington, Daughters of the Cincinnati, National Society of Descendants of Lords of the Maryland Manors, Society of The Ark and The Dove, Descendants of the Lees of Virginia, Hereditary Order of Descendants of Colonial Governors, Religious of the Eucharist, Christ Child Society, De La Brooke Foxhounds W, and various garden clubs, including Junior League Garden Club, Westmoreland Hills, Charles County, and the Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Matthews Cathedral 1725 Rhode Island Avenue, NW, Washington DC on Friday, October 31 at 10 AM.
