William Farrar

The Lord took my husband, William Farrar, home to be with him on November 4, 2024. He needed another angel with him. Bill was 86 years old. Born in Providence he was the son of the late William and Mary ( Kacewicz ) Farrar

He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Dorothy (Anargiro) Farrar; son William Farrar and his girlfriend Briana Coelho; daughter Maria Frizzle and her husband Jeff; grandchildren Kayla Simmons and her husband Dixon Simmons, Amanda Farrar and her boyfriend Cesar Gomez, Joshua Frizzle, and Monica Frizzle; two great grandsons Marcello Gomez and Santino Gomez; sister Peggy DeCarlo; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Bengston and brother in law Bill Bengtson.

Bill proudly served in the United States Navy for 4 years after high school aboard the USS Antietam. He graduated from Providence College, Class of 1974. Bill worked in the United States Post Office until his retirement in 1992.

He and Dotty loved to travel, they went to all 50 states in the United States and over 30 countries in Europe as well as many cruises. They had many happy memories together.

Bill loved to play golf, read, and play cards.

He was a member of the Pilgrim Senior Center for over 10 years and went to the St. Elizabeth Day Care Center. He was the past President of the Postal Supervisors for 6 years, which he really enjoyed.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will be loved always and remembered as a good husband and father. God got a good one. May he rest in peace.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Lakeside Nursing Home, especially the "Eden" group.

His visitation will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd, Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Ln, Warwick. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
