Born in Bronx, New York, he was the son of the late Lewis E. LeMay, Sr. and Elsie C. (Hubener) LeMay. He was the loving father of Kathy Reparsky and Christine DiBella; stepfather of Robbin Grover, Suzanne Rabideau and Pamela Norberg; cherished grandfather of Lauren Wiegand, Taylor Rose Forsythe, Erin Morgan, Danielle Reparsky, Emily Norberg and Meredith Norberg.
Lewis proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He grew up on City Island in New York, where he taught sailing to many children. He had worked in the Bronx as a lineman for the telephone company for many years before retiring at the age of 52. After retirement, he moved to Great Island in Narragansett, RI where he was well known to be super handy and even able to remodel homes. He enjoyed going dancing with his wife, lobster boils, boating, sailing, quahogging and clamming. He was the proud captain of his boat “Hi-Tide”.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 13th from 4-7 p.m. with his funeral service on Tuesday, May 14th at 10 a.m. in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick, RI. Please plan to arrive prior to 10 a.m. for the service. Graveside burial with military honors will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown, after which there will be a funeral collation.
