Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Marian (Gabiga) Steiner, she lived in Providence for most of her life before moving to Wickford then to Warwick in 2010.
Mrs. Favali was a receptionist at the former Edgehill Outpatient Clinic until her retirement in 1987. She was also an assistant activity coordinator at the Jewish Home for the Aged and Summit Medical Center for several years.
Genevieve was very creative in many ways. She was a gifted sewer, writer, and artist as well as a 'fix-it' woman; a modern day Renaissance Woman. She enjoyed gardening and taking long walks on the beach.
Closest to her heart and the loves of her life were her children, grandchildren and all their little ones.
Gen will be remembered for her gentle, kind and loving nature.
Genevieve was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was a foster grandparent for the Arcadia Children’s Home and made over 200 quilts for Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
She was the mother of Joanne C. Jaworski and her husband Jay, Cathy J. Sonnenberg, Karen A. Sargeant and her husband James, Robert A. Favali and his wife Bambi, Joseph D. Favali Jr. and his wife Dalen, and the late Jeanne M. Sprague and Ronald P. Favali, sister of Joseph A. Steiner, Jr. and his wife Edna, Geraldine Judge, and the late Dorothy Claire-O’Toole and Robert J. Steiner; grandmother of 16, great-grandmother of 20 and great-great grandmother of 3.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 8:00-10:00 am in the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd, Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Ave, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
