Richard was born to Roland Salvatore and Florence Grace (Conselio) Rosa in New Haven, Connecticut on July 20, 1930. He was 92. He graduated from Weymouth High School in 1948 before attending Tufts University both located in Massachusetts. The day after his college graduation, Richard was enlisted into the United States Army and served as a Private during the Korean War.
He was the husband of Edith Ann (Johnson) Rosa to whom he has been married for 67 years. They met in Chicago, Illinois and moved to New England to begin their journey together. The family grew to six with the births of Cheryl Lee (Rosa) Feliciano, Richard Roland Rosa, Jr., Anne Louise (Rosa) Saimeri and Robin Lynne Rosa Laub.
Richard Roland Rosa started his career in the plastics industry and then became owner of a Chemical Engineering Company for many years. He was an avid sailor, an entrepreneur and was involved in youth sports when his children were younger. He loved fixing cars, working in his garden and clamming. Every May you could find him betting on the Kentucky Derby involving all of his kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed reading for the blind, singing in the barbershop quartet and performing in musical plays. He also picked up the banjo at a later age and was self-taught.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Richard Roland Rosa Jr. and his wife Amy Rosa of Ormond Beach, FL; three daughters, Cheryl Lee Feliciano and her husband John Feliciano of Enfield, CT, Anne Louise Saimeri of Orleans, MA, and Robin Lynne Rosa Laub of San Mateo, CA, eleven grandchildren; Chelsea and Christie Rosa, Kyle Feliciano and Katlin (Feliciano) Ayotte, Mia (Saimeri) Abraham, Natalie (Saimeri) Parent, Salvatore and Olivia Salmeri, Courtney, Elle and Mark Laub and four great-grandchildren.
Private arrangements are in the care of the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, Warren, RI.
