Born in Englewood, NJ, she was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas A. Sr. and Suzanne G. (Gobeil) Ryan. She later lived in Marion, Swansea, MA and Barrington. RI. She attended both the Nazareth School and People Inc. in Fall River.
Mary's joy for life shone through her love of arts and crafts, coloring, magazines, shopping for jewelry and clothes. She best loved her “hamburger with cheese, fries and Diet Coke”.
For the past 24 years, she resided at the Carroll Ave. Maher home in Newport, RI. She loved all the staff, both past and present, and all her fellow residents. They were absolutely her extended family. She always felt loved by everyone and loved everyone back.
Mary's spirit will be remembered by all who knew her, as she brought warmth and joy to every gathering. This included parties, outings and shopping trips, both with her friends and family.
We take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her mom and dad. Mary was born an angel and died an angel.
She is survived by her siblings: Gregory T. Ryan and his wife Janet of Somerset, Thomas A. Ryan Jr. and his wife Garnette of West Greenwich, RI and Kimberly S. Gill and her husband Brendan of Milton, MA; nieces and nephews: Ashley, Alison, Jack, Samantha and Willow Ryan, Ryan and Matthew Gill.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of the Maher Center for the wonderful care they provided to Mary for the past 24 years.
Her visitation will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Mary of the Bay Church, Warren. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Barrington.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary Donna’s name can be made to the James L. Maher Center, 906 Aquidneck Avenue, Middletown, RI 02842.
