Stanley Andrew Solowski, age 75 and longtime resident of Warren, Michigan died Sunday, July 13, 2014 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, Michigan. Stanley was born September 30, 1938 in Hamtramck, Michigan, son of the late Stanley and the late Agnes (nee: Brzozowski) Solowski.Stanley was raised in Hamtramck and attended Catholic School. Later, Stanley was called to protect his country, serving in the United State Army for over three years. Prior to and following his military service, Stanley worked at J.L. Hudson Company serving in varied work capacities. Stanley later found his niche working as an Air Traffic Control Specialist with the Federal Aviation Administration in their Flight Services Department. Stanley retired from the FAA after more than 12 years of dedicated service.When Stanley was not working, he followed current events and U.S. politics, always staying on top of the changes to our wonderful country. Stanley was patriotic through and through and cared deeply for the future of our Country. He also enjoyed music both classical and folk. Stanley was also an avid Red Wings Hockey fan, and loved the sport of Stunt Kite Flying,...a recreation that he and his wife found later in life and enjoyed together while flying their kites out at Metropolitan Beach. Stanley cherished his family and was the beloved husband of Mary for more than 44 years, and is the dear father of George (Denise) Till, Steven (Jackie) Solowski, and Ann (John) Hakkinen. He was also the loving grandfather of John, Stevie, Emma, and Joslyn. Brother of Frances Lasczak and Barbara (Rich) Perrone. Visitation for Stanley will be held on Wednesday, July 16th from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile). He will lie in state on Thursday, July 17th from 9am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 9:30am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Warren. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr. Roman Pasieczny. Interment will take place Monday July 21, 2014 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan with full military honors.Please share memories of Stanley at his memory book.
