Rose Marie was born to Victor and Marie Wasung and raised in Hamtramck, Michigan. She graduated from St. Ladislaus High school and attended the University of Detroit and graduated with a degree in dental hygiene. She met the love of her life, Robert, who was across the street at the U of D Law School The two hit it off and Rose left her umbrella in Bob’s car on their first date to make sure there was another! They tied the knot on June 28, 1958, spending 64 loving years together. Rose and Bob settled in Macomb County to start their family. Bob eventually ran for Judge and Rose Marie was his biggest supporter and was so proud to be the Hon. Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Chrzanowski..
Rose loved throwing a good party, from family holiday gatherings to her special themed nights like “Halloween Trick-or-Treat” when you never knew if your grab bag was a trick, although her granddog Josie always got a treat! This Halloween party she was looking forward to reprising her role as “Head Witch Apollonia” and had already started wrapping her tricks and treats. She threw many a Mardi Gras Party where her parents Victor and Marie were crowned “King and Queen of the Mardi Gras including a Mardi gras parade in costume.
Rose (affectionately known as “Grammy”), filled Ross and Amanda's life with believing in fairies and Disney magic. Sassy Tinkerbell was her favorite! The magic continued with Harry Potter as she shared each book and movie with Ross and Amanda as they grew older. When Sue met Jay she gained a third grandchild, London, and the magic of fairies and wizards and Hogwarts was shared with her too. The entire family celebrated her 80th birthday at Universal City Orlando wearing Harry Potter robes and she was picked out of the crowd to be matched for a wand by the wand maker himself!
Rose was a phenomenal decorator and gift wrapper. She was the life of party and she loved to tell riddles for guests to solve, and there were always prizes!
She valued her friendships with her high school friends and the ladies group of St. Ladislaus. They met for lunch once a month and Rose Marie loved giving little gifts to them at each holiday.
Most of all, Rose loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed trips with her kids to the cottage in Belle River, Canada, and so many memories with her grandchildren in Caseville, Michigan. Her Pirate parties and treasure hunts in Caseville were legendary! She would watch the sunset with her family and was sure to make a toast. Her famous cottage drink was Jim Beam and seven-up. Every holiday had a toast of champagne. Rose shared her joy of life with everyone she loved.
She was a true giver – a giver of love, hugs, smiles, advice and great memorable times. She is a treasure who will truly be missed and loved beyond measure by her family and friends.
