Paul Thomas Olivier, age 92, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away on August 6, 2021. Paul was born on February 5, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, to his loving parents Paul T. Olivier and Mary Barrick.
During the Korean War, Paul was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army National Guard, working as a Judge Advocate General. After his service he continued his legal practice with his father and eventually, with his daughter. As a proud veteran he joined the American Veterans (Am Vets) Post 216, American Legion Post 206, as well as the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 256. Paul was a talented handyman and never left anything broken. He took pride in teaching his son what he knew and encouraged everyone to follow suit by gifting tools at Christmas. Dance was always a major part of his social life. Before her death, he loved taking his wife, Ruth, square dancing. After losing his wife, he met Joanne and continued dancing, but switched to ballroom dancing with her. His family and friends will always miss him, and his dry sense of humor.
Paul was the beloved husband of the late Ruth Olivier for 54 years. He is the loving father of Mark (Karen) Olivier and Lynn (Benny) Cunningham. The cherished grandfather of Justin Olivier and Alexandria (Daniel) White. The treasured great-grandfather of Natalee White and Logan White. He will be missed by his lady friend and ballroom dance partner, Joanne Clifford.
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 9, starting at 5:00pm until the time of the Rosary, at 7:00pm, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, at Masonic, in Warren. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, August 10, at 11:00am following the 10:30am instate, at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 14115 East 14 Mile Road, in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
