Oscar was born in Detroit, MI on June 10, 1929, to his parents Heinrich and Gertrude Rehn.
He was a proud United States Air Force veteran, serving with honor in the Korean War. Oscar graduated from Wayne State University where he earned his teaching certificate. He never used the teaching certificate after he found out that he had a real talent for sales. Oscar was one of the Detroit area's top car salesmen and fleet manager. He always treated his customers with dignity and his business grew organically because of his character. Oscar was a passionate people person. He loved people and easily made friends.
Oscar was a man of deep faith and loved his church.
He was an avid stamp collector and had a passion for cars and airplanes. He loved boating, an activity that he managed to get a lot of his friends involved with as well. Most of all, Oscar deeply loved his family.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothea. Brother, Robert. Children, Mark (Emily), Sharon (Louis), Henry (Cara) and Kirk (Amy). Grandchildren, Dianna (Andrew) Mohrmann, Katherin (Stephen) Wong and Max Rehn. Great grandchildren, James Wong and Anastasia Mohrmann. Niece, Denise (Tim) Coulter. Nephews, Robert, Steven, and Daniel. He is also survived by cousins, many friends, coworkers and all who were blessed by having known him.
Oscar was predeceased by Margaret, Robert, Bruce Coulter, and Sue Rehn
Friends and family may visit the A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road, Warren, MI 48088 on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
A funeral service will be held at the Christ Lutheran Church, 32300 Schoenherr Road Warren, MI 48088 on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. There will be a preservice viewing starting at 10:00 AM. A luncheon at the Gazebo Banquet Center, 31104 Mound Rd, Warren, MI 48092 will begin at 1:00 P.M.
Oscar will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442 on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 2:00 P.M., where military honors will be rendered.
