Larry Ray Briscoe, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 27, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on November 29, 1943, in Beaumont, Texas, to James Earl Briscoe and Katie Lee (nee Currath) Briscoe, Larry lived a life rich in love and creativity.
A devoted family man, Larry cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He took great pride in his role as a father and grandfather, always ready with a warm smile and a listening ear. His simple, yet profound love for family was the cornerstone of his life.
Larry had a passion for old television shows and movies, particularly those featuring cowboys and the spirit of the West. His enthusiasm for westerns reflected his appreciation for the values of hard work, loyalty, and adventure.
A self-taught musician, Larry found joy in playing guitar from a young age. He loved to sing and write his own songs, often pouring his heart into lyrics that filled a cherished binder at home. Music was a vital part of his life, and he delighted in sharing it with those around him.
Larry worked as a machine maintenance man in the food service industry for eighteen years, a job he approached with pride and dedication. He was a resourceful problem solver who could fix just about anything, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.
He was a simple man who found happiness in life’s little pleasures, whether it was strumming his guitar, enjoying a classic film, or spending time with family. His warmth and kindness touched everyone he met, and he will be dearly missed.
Larry is survived by his children Bobby Ray Briscoe, Charlie E. Briscoe, Kris (Holly) Briscoe, Dixie Roffe, Donald Zakrezewski, Terry Kresge, Leonard Zakrezewski, Lawrence Zakrezewski, and April; his grandchildren Gracie, Lucy, Krista, Heather (Eric), and Taylor; his great-grandchildren Paisley, Luke, Eli, and Jacob; and a plethora of extended family members and close friends. Preceded in death by his parents James and Katie Briscoe; and his wife Mary.
