It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kevin Douglas Holmes, age 53, of Warren, Michigan, on November 12, 2024. Born on January 23, 1971, in Warren, Kevin was the beloved son of Linda and the late Barry Goff. He was one of three children and leaves behind a family that adored him deeply.
Kevin's greatest joy in life was his family. He met the love of his life, Jennifer Serbymink, in October of 1997, through a mutual friend. Their love was instant and unwavering, and they were married on April 18, 1998. This past October, they celebrated 27 beautiful years together, a testament to their enduring bond. Kevin's love for Jennifer, his soulmate, was a constant source of strength in his life.
Together, Kevin and Jennifer raised three children—Rebecca, Jason, and Stephanie—whom he loved dearly. He was a devoted father who took immense pride in watching them grow and flourish. Kevin's heart also belonged to the family’s three rescued Pitties that became cherished members of the family—Peanut, Jelly, and Biscuit—whom he adored and cared for with the same tenderness he gave to his family.
A man of simple pleasures, Kevin found joy in the things that mattered most. He was a passionate music lover, drawn to rock bands, local artists, and especially the rhythmic joy of playing the drums. Music was a constant source of joy in his life, and it served as both an escape and a way for him to connect with those around him. Kevin's love for music was matched only by his fondness for going to local artists to get tattoos, a hobby he took pride in. Above all, Kevin cherished spending time with his family, whether it was enjoying quiet moments at home or creating lasting memories on family outings.
Kevin was a gentle soul, grounded by his love for his family, his music, and his simple, yet deeply fulfilling life. He was a man who valued the everyday moments—whether listening to his favorite songs, playing with his dogs, or simply being surrounded by the people he loved most.
Kevin's passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the stories we share, the music we listen to, and the love that remains. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; their children, Rebecca, Jason, and Stephanie; his mother, Linda; his siblings Dianne (Robert) Gaffke, and Karl Goff; and countless friends who were blessed to know him.
A memorial visitation to gather and remember Kevin’s kindness, his laughter, and his unwavering love will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm at D.S Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, located at 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, Michigan 48093.
Donations in Kevin's memory may be made to any charity.
May you rest in peace, Kevin. You were deeply loved and will be missed by all.
