Born in Ferndale to the late Alfred and Margaret Dear, Karen’s greatest joy in life was caring for her family and showing them how much she loved them. Growing up in a big family, it was Karen’s nature to help others. She loved her daughter Gina more than anything, and when Gina went on to have her own kids her grandchildren adored her just as much. The family would gather around her table for whatever she cooked up, which was somehow always delicious; Karen had a talent for both cooking and baking. She would cook up everyone’s favorites, always putting others before herself, but given the chance, Karen’s favorite comfort meal was a simple hamburger. Karen always stayed busy whether it was crocheting, making jewelry, or whichever craft she had happened to pick up at any given time. Karen loved to make people laugh, which she did quite easily with the wild stories she would make up to tell her grandchildren. A bit of a prankster, Karen was a friend to all and treated her friends like part of her family. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Karen will be missed dearly.
Beloved mom of Gina (Ron) Miele. Loving grandma of Breanna, McKenna, and Olivia. Cherished sister of Jeanette, Katherine (Mark), Mark (Linda), Brian, Al (Denise), and Chris. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friend LaDeane.
A graveside service for Karen will take place Monday, June 19th at 11am at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Twp.
