Jeanette Rumptz

Jeanette Rumptz, age 80 of Metamora, and her beloved dog Chase, died tragically on Saturday, August 23, 2014 in Lapeer, MI. She was born December 19, 1933 in Balkan, Kentucky, daughter of the late Thomas Bradford Williams and the late Stella (Chaffin) Williams. Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Joseph Rumptz, daughter, Belinda Ann Rumptz, and son, Mark Thomas Rumptz. Dear mother of Chris, Karl (Kelly), Eric (Caroline), Mark (Diane), and David (Tita) Rumptz. Jeanette was the loving sister of Bob Williams, the late Frances Christofus, MacArthur Williams, the late Edna Foley, and Kitty Hogg. Loving Grandmother to Bridgette, Abbey, Amanda, Ben, Jack, Kyle, Andrew, Ashley, Hannah, and Brandon.Jeanette, known to all as" Jan," was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a lifelong volunteer. She served as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. She ran a Consignment Resale Shop for the League of Catholic Women for several years and eventually opened her own Consignment Resale Shop in Auburn Hills known as "Jeanette's Resale".Jan had a heart of gold and set such a loving example to all who were blessed to know her. She leaves a legacy of love that will keep her close at heart for eternity, and her presence will be missed immensely.A Memorial Service for Jan will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 11:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 715 N. Lapeer Rd. Lake Orion, Michigan.Arrangements have been entrusted to the D.S.Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren.Please share memories of Jeanette at her memory book.
