Janice Fawnelle Parisi

Janice Fawnelle Thompson (Parisi), age 69, of Warren and formerly of Hazel Park, Michigan passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021. Janice was born July 15, 1952 in Huntington, West Virginia to her late parents, George and Mary Thompson.

Born and in Huntington, West Virginia, Janice moved when she was just 15-years-old to Hazel Park, Michigan where she attended Hazel Park High School. She eventually worked for Dr. Bowman’s dental office for over 30 years. Janice was dedicated to her new hometown, where she served on the Hazel Park City Council for 15 years. She also took great pride in her role in the city’s Beautification Committee and the Lions Club. Janice was even elected as Hazel Park’s mayor where she served for a year until she was unable to do so due to her health. In 2018, Janice moved to the city of Warren where she enjoyed her retirement.

Janice was dedicated to not only her city, but to the people around her. She helped anyone and everyone and volunteered whenever she could- her favorite event being the Special Olympics. In her leisure time, she enjoyed golf, going for walks, yoga, and gardening. Janice was known as the Matriarch of her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren whenever she could. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally by all who knew her.

Janice was the loving mother of Rebecca (Rudy) Sinn, Amy Strick, and April (Todd) Daenzer. Adored grandmother of Tiffany, Hannah, Justin, Ben, Jake, Dylan, Christina, Savannah, and Abigail. Dear sister of Patrick (Lorraine) Thompson, Danny Thompson, Mark Thompson, Lisa (Mike) Lee, and Deanna (Dan) Thompson. Special cousin of Judy Cox.

Visitation for Janice will be held Saturday, October 30th from 12:30pm until the time of her Funeral Service at 6:00pm with Pastor Patrick Thompson officiating at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, MI 48093.
