With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Dian Marie Shea, age 86, of Sterling Heights, Michigan on Saturday, March 23, 2024. She left us peacefully, surrounded by the cherished memories of a life lived fully and with great love.
Born on January 14, 1938, Dian was the daughter of her late parents, Jean Burton and Veronica Cilluffo. She was beloved wife of the late Patrick and mother to Rebecca Shea, Rachel Videan, and Patrick J. Shea, who preceded her in death.
Despite enduring the unimaginable loss of her children, Dian showed remarkable resilience and a passion for life that inspired all who knew her. Dian fought many courageous battles with cancer throughout her life, yet she never let it dim her spirit or zest for life.
Dian touched countless lives with her compassionate care during her many years as a dedicated nurse until her well-deserved retirement. Her adventurous spirit led her to enjoy traveling, bus trips, musical shows, casinos, and dining out, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her friends and family. She was an integral member of her church and bible study, finding solace and community in her faith, and participated in grief classes, offering, and receiving support during times of loss. She was an active member of the senior club, relishing in activities like playing pinochle and cards. More recently, Dian discovered a passion for the game Wordle, becoming a quick study and often outwitting her opponents. She was a proud member of the Red Hats, treasuring the camaraderie and friendships she found there.
Dian is the cherished sister of Sarah (Scott) Anderson. Adored aunt of Taryn (Josef) Kotermanski, Carrie Nelson, and Jana (David) Warren. Proud great-aunt of Presley Kotermanski, Keaton Kotermanski, and Kennedy Warren. Dear sister-in-law of Mary Ann (Donald) Fradette and the late Thomas Shea. While it brings peace to know that Dian has reunited with her dearly missed husband and children in the afterlife, her legacy of love and compassion will endure with anyone fortunate enough to have known her for generations to come.
Visitation for Dian will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd from 3-8pm with a Scripture Service at 7pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Rd. She will lie In State on Wednesday, April 3rd at 10:30am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 14115 E 14 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.
