The son of Viola Bryant, he was born and raised in Washington DC, but spent the majority of his adult life creating and raising his family in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he was stationed on the Aircraft Carrier John F. Kennedy homeported in Norfolk, VA. While in the Navy he served 3 years, successfully completing 2 deployments and earning his GED. After his time in the military, he was honorably discharged from the US Navy and found a job working in Government Printing in Washington, DC. He worked there for 30 years, working his way up from pressmen to foreman where he served as a supervisor and ran the press shop during his shifts. Upon his retirement in 2013, he started working for an assemblage company that sent him to various stores to assemble and disassemble home improvement products and various other items for the home. He typically found himself working at Home Depot, doing what he enjoyed… working with his hands.
In his leisure time he was an avid reader. He enjoyed watching the news, discussing politics and other controversial topics and watching movies. Gifted with his hands, he could often be found doing home projects, working in the yard or working on his car. He recently found enjoyment in long distance bike riding and had even participated in group rides during the warm months of the spring and summer.
