Marie was born in Montgomery County, KY on August 7, 1937, to George and Opal (Sorrell) Everman. She was married to Billy Jackson Orme on May 8, 1954 and was married 63 years.
Marie was a woman of faith, a homemaker, and mother. She enjoyed writing songs and singing, traveling to the beach, spending time with her children, and being Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marie is survived by her sister Helen Burton of Louisville, KY, her five children Kevin Orme (Lacey), Tyra Orme Long (Paul), Susan Orme, Vanessa Orme Prater (Tim) of Mt. Sterling, KY, and Melissa Orme Arbeau (Jonathan) of Washington, DC. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jackson Orme, her brothers Charlie Everman and Russell Everman, and granddaughter, Jaclynn Clark.
The viewing will be held from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Taul Funeral Home. The funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 28, 2020, also at Taul Funeral Home. Rev. James Lee Hendrix, of Eastland First Church of God, and Rev. David Campbell, of Howards Mill First Church of God, will be officiating. The burial service will immediately follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Long, Kevin Wade, Travis Mckinney, Ben Mckinney, Anthony King, and Drew Vickery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dolly Cassidy, Tommy Orme, Charles Orme, RD and Donna Burton, Jonathan Arbeau, Paul Wilkins, Jimmy Dicken, Sylvia Lamb, Rodrigo Crisostomo, and Tim Prater.
