Biff was born on January 28, 1944 in Washington, DC to Edwin and Agnes (Hougue) Lawless. On July 1, 1966, she married Charles Edward Blackburn, Jr. They raised two daughters, Elizabeth “Kathy” and Cynthia “Jenine”. Biff retired in a field of doing accounts receivable and payable after many years.
Biff had a passion for her family and gardening. She was known for having a rose bush or two and a garden full of different flowers throughout the year. She also had a vegetable garden and several tomato trees for several years, which she always shared with others. Outside of gardening and her family, Biff was known as the cat lady. Her cats were her babies. There were times she had more than 10 cats at a time and she never denied a stray cat that decided to wander in. She was the same with family and friends that needed a place to stay. Her doors were always open.
Biff was preceded in death by her father, Edwin, and her mother, Agnes. She is survived by her husband Charles “Eddie”, her daughters, Kathy and Jenine and her husband Kevin, her brothers Barney and Irving, her grandchildren William “Billy” and his wife Samantha, Patricia “Teri”, and Ariell, her great grandchildren Revan and Karson, as well as several in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 19, 2019 at The Courtyard by Marriott 3145 Crain Highway, Waldorf, MD 20603 from 3pm to 8pm. Please join the family in remembering Biff and celebrating her life. Bring memories to share and photos to share as well.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a monetary donation to Elizabeth’s family to offset the financial debt incurred by medical and funeral bills.
