Robert Bruce West

Robert Bruce West, 62 of Waco, passed away on Friday, July 7. 2023. Celebration of life will be Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with Reverend David Cozart Officiating and Military Honor to follow.

Robert was born on May 3, 1961 to Leslie Allen and Barbara Jean (Bruner) West in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He graduated from David Glasgow Farragut High School in 1979. Robert served in the United States Navy 1985-2004. He lived in various places during his time as a Portuguese Linguist for military intelligence in the Navy. Robert spoke Spanish fluently since he was young. He was very athletic and loved to play sports. He was a very generous person. If you asked him for something, not only would he give it to you, but he would also tell you that you didn’t even have to ask. Robert loved his children and was a great provider for his family. He also had a spiritual life and being close to God and studying the Bible was very important to him. He had a very unique sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was a very sentimental person and loved nature and photography. He will always be remembered and loved.

He is preceded in death by his parents, aunt, and ex-mother-in-law, Dulce Vila.

Survivors include his daughters, Leslie West of Tomball, TX, Bobbie-Jean West of Pfugerville, TX, son, Cooper West of Killeen, TX; granddaughter, Alana West of Tomball, TX; sisters, Sandra Adams of Waco, TX, Donna Moran and husband, Ronnie of Temple, TX, brother, Allen West and wife, Tina of Temple, TX, numerous nieces, nephews and host of friends
