Mary E Elliston Berry

Mary E. Berry, age 97, died on Friday, May 13, 2011 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 16, at Connally /Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Randy Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.

Mary was born Feb. 18, 1914, to Jacob and Zaratha Hodges Elliston in Lott, Texas.

She graduated from Bell Falls High School in 1932. Mary married Norman Russell Berry Aug. 16, 1936. He preceded her in death May 7, 1991. Mary was a longtime resident of Waco and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Left behind to cherish her memory is son, Russell Berry and wife, Paula of Abilene; daughter, Kay Berry of Waco; granddaughter, Kristin Stevens and husband, Tony, of Wylie; grandson, Jeff Berry and wife, Anna, of Nashville, Tenn,; great-granddaughters, Berry Stevens and Charleigh Stevens of Wylie, and Elliston Berry of Nashville, Tenn.; and great-grandsons, Jake Heaps-Berry and Parker Berry of Nashville, Tenn.

The family expresses their appreciation to the staff at Royal Manor for their loving care given to their mother.

Memorials may be given to Howard Payne Trustee Scholarship Fund or Charity of their choice.
