John was born on February 11, 1939 in Rural McLennan County Texas. He worked many years in the auto salvage business providing for his family and younger siblings.
John was preceded in death by his parents; Two brothers Tim and Aubrey; Brother in law; Harley Sutton and two sisters; Rachel and Catherine.
John is survived by his son; John Jr Davis II of Dallas; one grandson, John John; two brothers; Willard Davis of Lorena and Richard Davis of Chalk Bluff; one sister Lula Bell Sutton of Bellmead along with numerous nieces, nephews and many cousins.
He give all of his nephews and nieces nicknames. For his sisters Catherine Franklin and Lula Bell Sutton take care of him up to the time Catherine passed away in February of this year.
A visitation for John will be held Monday, November 11, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, 4400 West Waco Drive, Waco, TX 76710. A graveside will occur Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Eagle Springs Cemetery, 14219 FM107, McGregor, TX 76657.
