Cheryl Anderson Clark, 67, of Waco passed away November 18, 2015 after a long illness. A memorial service will be held at 3:00p.m., Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church of Waco.
Cheryl was born on February 18, 1948 in Waco, Texas to Dorothy Jean and Jamie L. Anderson. Cheryl graduated from Richfield High School in 1966, and she attended Baylor University where she graduated with B.A. and M.A. degrees. She was the first librarian of the Lake Air Branch of the Waco-McLennan County Library and worked at Baylor University before teaching art and English in the McGregor and Waco Independent School Districts. She co-managed the Anderson/Clark Gallery, a family-owned business, in the 1980s. Before illness necessitated early retirement, she returned to teaching and then worked as a technology specialist for WISD. A talented artist, she enjoyed crafting, genealogy and cooking and was a devoted grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Winston B. Clark; her parents; and brother, Jamie L. Anderson, Jr.
She is survived by her step-daughter, Susan Lynch and husband, Brian, of the Bay area of California; daughter, Darija Clark, of Austin; son, Matthew Clark and wife, Niki, of McGregor; grandson, Kade Clark; granddaughters,Verbena Canseco and Sophia Canseco and brother John Dennis Anderson and his husband Peter Kosewski, of Boston, Massachusetts. Her family gratefully acknowledges the devotion of friends Donna McMullen and Charlotte Ransome in Cheryl’s last months. She will be truly missed.
