He was an active member and deacon of Westside Baptist Church for over sixty years, serving on multiple committees. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and neighbor. Jack was a US veteran serving on a submarine in the US Navy. He was a superintendent and project manager for WB Guimarin for over 30 years. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Wooten Stanley of West Columbia; daughter, Marilyn Lown (Walter) of West Columbia; son, Barry J. Stanley (Brenda) of Sumter; five grandchildren, Melissa Wooten, Christina Glenn, Baxter Stanley, Logan Stanley, and Colt Stanley; and four great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Eddie Stanley, Jr.; sister, Emily Johnson; and two brothers, L.W. and Danny Stanley.
A visitation for Jack will be held Friday, October 27, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, South Carolina 29170. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 27, 2023 at 12:00 PM, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, South Carolina 29170, with burial to follow at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, South Carolina 29170.
