He participated in youth football for many years and graduated from Pelion High School where he was a part of the wrestling team.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was happy catching the limit on Lake Murray, Santee and other South Carolina lakes. He looked forward to deer season having harvested his first one on October 16, 2011. For years, he requested a new turkey caller for birthday and Christmas presents and mastered each caller to attract his target.
Brier is tremendously loved by his aunts and uncles; his parents, Steven and Latonya Hudson; sister, Jaiden Long; brother, Trevor Long; maternal grandparents, Audrey Craft and Waldo Buff; paternal grandparents, Robert and Susan Corley. He will be missed by his loyal pet and faithful companion, Draco. Where Brier went, Draco was beside him.
A tragic auto accident took Brier away from his earthly home on November 17, 2022 at the young age of 19, and he will be missed immeasurably.
It broke our hearts to lose him the day God called him home. Part of us went with him but he left us with wonderful memories. The beauty of a memory is that it is always there, and you can take it with you wherever you go. So, when our heart is heavy and our eyes our filled with tears, we can think of a happy “BriBri” encounter. As we, his loved ones, continue on with our lives, we take comfort in a lifetime of sweet memories of our Brier. Although we cannot see him, we know he is always with us.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, 29170. A burial will follow the service at Southland Memorial Gardens in West Columbia, SC. The pallbearers will be Wyatt Keisler, Hunter Powell, John Paul Kegley, Charles Stanley, Chandler Stanley, and Danny Rucker.
