He graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1958. He practiced general medicine and surgery in Visalia until 1974, when he moved the family back to Tennessee in order to do an ophthalmology residency. After completion, he moved back to Visalia where he practiced ophthalmology for many years.
He was a lifelong active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. His retirement years were happily spent in San Luis Obispo. Besides his family his greatest enjoyment was traveling.
Sven lived a full life as a wonderful husband, father, and physician. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Jane (Angell) and by his 3 children David (Tricia), Debra, and Arne (Holly) and by his 5 grandchildren Anders (Michelle), Peter, Caroline, Marie and Mitchell.
He will be laid to rest in Visalia on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 9:30 am at Visalia Public Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Ave., followed by a time for sharing and fellowship in the Event Hall at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Ave. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date.
