Paul was born in Woodlake, California on December 19, 1946 to Lewis Edward and Eva Clarice Shouse. He was raised and educated in Visalia, California, graduating from Redwood High School with the Class of 1965. Shortly after, Paul entered the United States Marine Corp in early 1966 and was discharged in 1968. On April 14, 1967 he married Ellen Louise Freeman in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was of Christian faith. Paul enjoyed watching John Wayne movies, riding and training his horses and he loved animals of all kinds. Paul had a dry sense of humor but could always make others laugh. Although he was a very private man, he enjoyed people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Eva and his brother Gene Baxley.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Shouse of Ivanhoe; his son Louie Shouse of Ivanhoe, CA; two brothers, Walt Baxley of Las Vegas, NV and Raymond Shouse of Ivanhoe, CA; three sisters, Dixie Samuels of Murietta, CA, Irene Penney of Fresno, CA and Barbara Anderson of the San Francisco area; two grandchildren Marcus Wolfgang Shouse and Ethan Harrison Shouse.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Visalia Public Cemetery, 1300 W. Goshen Ave., Visalia, CA.
