Patricia (Ann) Gorsky Kelly (71) entered Heaven’s gates on Monday, November 26, 2018. She was born in Flint, MI on March 26, 1947. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael Kelly; brother, Rudolph John (Laurie) Gorsky; daughter Lynnette (Michael) Lwin, son Sean (Susan) Kelly, and daughter Martha (Henry) Fierro; and 9 grandchildren, Genesis and Jeremiah; Aiden, Adeline, Claire, Eliana, Kyleah, (preceded by) Gabriel, Luke, and Angeline.
Pat is a retired Green Acres Middle School English teacher (1982-2013) and recently had been mentoring student teachers through Fresno Pacific University. She was passionate about teaching and loved her students and teacher friends for life. Mom had a radiant smile and laughter that filled every corner of a room. She enjoyed endless hours of quilting and sewing table runners and pillow cases as gifts for every season and interest. She loved people, good chocolate, unsweetened McDonald’s tea, shopping for shoes at Brown’s, fine jewelry, breakfast at Valhalla (table 3), playing Bunco, reading books, buying and meticulously wrapping gifts for those she loved most, and leisure lunches with “the girls.” She never missed an opportunity to send a detailed hand-written note. Mom looked forward to her annual 6-week Hawaii “residency” at her oldest daughter's home with beach time (in the shade), daily errands including fabric shopping, and the delightful fragrances of tuberose and ginger lei. She loved road trips to anywhere, especially going to the coast, Disneyland, and San Fransisco. She loved family dinners and just hangin’ with her family. Grammy loved everything that involved her grandkids – attending dance and sports events, helping sell treats at the snack bar, baking multiple batches of cookies, bedtime stories in a cozy chair, snuggling with as many “littles” as would fit in her lap at one time, and late-night talks and homework help with the older kids. Pat is sorely missed already and will be unforgettably cherished in so many hearts with countless loving memories.
